Since the founding of the California Council on Science and Technology in 1988, the University of Southern California (USC) has administered employee salaries and benefits for CCST. As of July 1, 2003 the University of California has assumed this responsibility.
The Council wished to recognize the tremendous service that the University of Southern California performed for CCST over the past 15 years. Accordingly, formal resolutions by the California State Assembly, authored by the Honorable Mark Ridley-Thomas, were presented to USC President Steven B. Sample and USC Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs Lloyd Armstrong, Jr., thanking the University of Southern California for generously providing the vital administrative support that enabled the CCST offices to function for so long. At CCST's June 2003 dinner program, Karen Symms Gallagher, dean of the USC Rossier School of Education, accepted the resolution on behalf of Provost Lloyd Armstrong, Jr.
